ADE has always had a generous free side, and the 30th edition is no different. You can spend the whole week without buying a single ticket and still hear world-class DJs, test drum machines you can't afford, and see some of the best art installations in town.

Here is every free ADE 2026 event we could verify — 15 in total, checked against official pages or, where marked "press-confirmed", reputable press — plus a few cheap extras. Heads-up: ADE usually publishes its own free-events picks close to the week. It wasn't out yet on 16 October, so expect more free shows to appear. We'll add them as they're confirmed.

Free during the day

ADE Lab Discovery — the free gear lab

The best free thing at ADE. For three days the Westergas terrain turns into the ADE Lab Village: a Gear Test Lab in Het Ketelhuis where you can get hands-on with synths, drum machines and DJ gear, open-to-join "Get Into" sessions, Radio Radio listening sessions and a run of art installations. It's free, but you must register in advance (online, or by QR code on site) and swap your e-ticket for a wristband at the Westergas desk.

Free art installations

Also in the ADE Lab Village and listed as free on ADE's arts programme: Heliotrope (Heleen Blanken & Daniel de Bruin), Charged (Jaco Schilp), The Egg (Touki Delphine) and Dreaming Babies: illi (Yoon Chung Han). The Archiving the Night expo about collecting Amsterdam club culture opens there too, and GINGA: VIRA is listed as a free public exhibition.

Free record-store sessions

Amsterdam's record shops always join in. Two free in-stores are confirmed so far: Rush Hour's basement session with Sassy J, Mammo live and Dave Huismans' ex_libris A/V show (RSVP by email), and Concerto's Sunday Selectors with Dave Clarke, Marcel Dettmann and Louisahhh. Rush Hour also hosts a Technics Vinyl Club takeover on Thursday with Cinthie b2b Kléo — entry price wasn't listed, so check before you go.

Free doesn't mean small. Ellen Allien's Vinylism takes over TILLATEC for a Friday afternoon and Lobster brings Mella Dee b2b Samuel Deep to BRET on Wednesday. How to do ADE on a zero budget

Register for ADE Lab Discovery first. It's three full days of free programming and the registration is the only step.
RSVP as soon as you can. Free club nights are often capped. If you didn't RSVP, arrive at opening time.
Use the GVB discount. ADE and GVB offer 20% off GVB day tickets with code ADE2026 in the GVB webshop. Ferries across the IJ are always free.
Save the record attempt for in-between moments. The 100-hour back-to-back set on Kerkstraat runs all week — free to watch through the windows.
Check RA on the day. Record shops and small bars often add free in-store sets at short notice during ADE week — on top of the Rush Hour and Concerto sessions above.

Are there free events at ADE 2026?

Yes. Verified free events include ADE Lab Discovery at Westergas (Wed 21 – Fri 23 October, 10:00–18:00, free registration), Ellen Allien's Vinylism at TILLATEC (Fri 23), in-store sessions at Rush Hour (Sat 24, RSVP) and Concerto (Sun 25, with Dave Clarke and Marcel Dettmann), Lobster invites at BRET (Wed 21, RSVP), several bar parties listed by I amsterdam, and a 100-hour DJ record attempt on Kerkstraat.

Do I need to register for free ADE events?

Some, yes. ADE Lab Discovery requires free advance registration and a wristband from the Westergas desk. Lobster invites, DTLA x Saturo Sounds and the Rush Hour in-store need an RSVP. Other free bar parties are walk-in, subject to capacity.

What is ADE Lab Discovery?

ADE Lab Discovery is the free public part of ADE Lab: three days of sessions, a Gear Test Lab in Het Ketelhuis, Radio Radio listening sessions and art installations in the ADE Lab Village at Westergas.

Can I go to ADE without buying tickets?

Yes. With ADE Lab Discovery, the free installations and the free and RSVP parties you can fill most of the week without a ticket, although the biggest club nights and festivals are ticketed.
